God invented dressing not Hollywood or Paris designers. Yet, those who want to make money will want you to believe that fashion was invented by Hollywood or in Paris. The first account of an object of clothing being made was done with animal skin, and the designer was God Himself.
So, you wonder why fashion has been seriously abused. It's simple. When the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable. Many will that we are higher animals; what separates us is our intellect as opposed to intuition in lower animals. However, intellect is important because it will also prompt the question, WHY. Why was clothing invented, how come we are not naked like lower animals. This brings us to the purpose of dressing.
I found this in the bible (Exodus 28:40,42). Fundamental truth that is universally accepted. In that passage, it reads, "... thou shall make coats, and thou shalt make for them girdles, and bonnets shall thou make for them, for glory and for beauty. ...thou shalt make them linen breeches to cover their nakedness; from the loins even unto the thighs they shall reach..."
From the above, we can cull four universally accepted reasons for fashion, as opposed to Paris Fashion and Hollywood that are primarily gear to make money. First, for Beauty, second, for Glory, third, for Coverage and finally for Identity.
Before you buy another piece of dress, ask yourself if it meet any of the above conditions?
